Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger

Given that UAE has a high GDP per capita which is estimated at (USD 24,000) in 2006, UAE has fully achieved this goal. The UAE is also made other efforts to enhance the wellbeing of its citizens’ by introducing host of social programmes. These are:
1)  Allocating farmland to farmers and securing cooperative marketing for their products.                      
2) Providing fishermen with financial and material support.
3) Providing citizens and economic utilities with their needs of water and electricity services at support prices.
4) Exempting machines and raw material for national factories from taxes and customs fees, and providing the factories with facilitated loans.

In support of the national efforts of improving UAE citizens’ wellbeing, UNDP-UAE in April 2007 mounted a fact finding mission to the Northern Emirate of Rasal Kheimah to assess the viability of income enhancing initiative, such as small and medium enterprises development, encouraging young UAE women entrepreneurs.
